6月初，受臺灣世界展望會(展望會)之邀，探訪衣索比亞，從桃機歷經9小時飛抵杜拜、等候轉機約莫6小時，再搭4小時終抵達首都阿迪斯阿貝巴(Addis Ababa)。尚未踏入該國土地，腦海浮現的多半是貧窮、荒蕪、皮包骨的小孩，但，4天駐足眼見一切，才發現並非如此。</p>
<p>
衣索比亞爲非洲第四大經濟體國家，阿迪斯阿貝巴約360多萬人，首都巴博萊機場是全非洲最大航站樓之一，一條長約3800米的跑道，大廳燈火通明，通關安檢等現代設備一應俱全;通關後，車子往市中心前行，沿途可見動軋近百萬的日本進口車，不少路人手拿智慧型手機、穿着新潮，眼前景像完全顛覆以往舊印象，驚訝「沒那麼落後啊」!</p>

只是，「都會感」就僅止於市中心，車子愈往郊區前進，愈見更多衣衫不整的民衆趕着牛、羊、馬或驢;或淮備前往市集販賣，換取一家人餬口的微薄價錢的人;或以物易物求生存者，這些相較於首都的繁榮盛況，貧富差距顯而易見。</p>
<p>
<strong> 長年受乾旱之苦</strong></p>
<p>
衣索比亞總面積113萬平方公里，相當於臺灣30倍大，約有1億人口，超過1成民衆長期處於饑荒，孩童嚴重營養不良、水資源不足，不到4成人口可取得乾淨飲用水，僅2成民衆有乾淨衛生設施;除了首都，其他地區民衆大多住茅草屋、露天如廁。近年氣候異常，該國東南方連4年乾旱，農作物幾乎欠收，造成5歲以下兒童生長遲緩、瀕臨死亡。</p>
<p>
農業是該國立國之本，超過8成民衆務農，卻長年受乾旱所苦，近幾年收成根本不夠一家人餬口，也無法購買其他生活必需品，加上學校及醫院等重要措施都建設在首都，很多人根本無法接受正常醫療照顧。首都以外各區電力少之又少，大多數民衆都靠木柴取火烹煮食物，若遇上下雨，該國有超過一半道路無法行駛車輛，因未鋪柏油滿街泥濘，環境惡劣。</p>
<p>
<strong> 品嚐道地英傑拉</strong></p>
<p>
衣索比亞是「咖啡的發源地」，當地有個習俗，不管多麼貧窮的民衆，家中一定會有一把咖啡壺和一個炭爐，隨時烹煮咖啡;來到這裏，不難發現每餐後必有侍者遞上咖啡，與臺灣咖啡口味比起來，這裏的香氣不濃、苦卻不澀，喝起來溫和爽口，別有一般風味;此外，當地民衆的傳統主食Injera(英傑拉)，外觀如海綿狀的薄餅，可將肉類、雞蛋或豆類包在餅裏，喫起來酸味十足，口感猶如餅皮上灑滿檸檬汁，深受當地人喜愛，但幾乎所有外地人都喫不慣，若有機會造訪，可嘗試這個道地滋味。</p>

非洲是許多人一生未曾踏上的紅土大地，充滿幻想和傳說，或許因爲國情、民風使然，蒙上神祕面紗，等着外人一探虛實。如果你經濟能力許可、事前淮備妥善，來趟衣索比亞，看看當地人在惡劣環境下如何展現強韌生命力，單純地爲活下去與大自然拔生命之河，或許經歷這趟旅程後，你的想法、價值觀因此改變，更珍惜周遭一切人事物。</p>
